Spring Leopard ...

Spring has arrived, so in my eyes that means time to ditch the faithful 60 denier opaques because it is acceptable to bare your legs, even if they are slightly casper-esq.
So I stumbled across some sales on the high street this weekend and bagged a couple of bargains to spring forward my wardrobe. I love matching floaty numbers with leather, especially this sassy blushed pink dress from H&M, I'm sure we are in agreement that leopard is the only print worth rocking this season.

Marks & Sparks ...

Did anyone else's parents or Grandparents call it Marks & Sparks?
I remember my visits to M&S with my Grandad to get his St Michael's egg custards (they were the best after all)... I was surrounded by aisles of unflattering bootleg trousers in every shade of beige followed by Per Una (the 'trendy' range) everything was floral with extravagant corsages and tassels. I thought to myself who would actually buy their clothes from here ?!
Well, M&S has been given one hell of a style makeover and even made their debut at this years London Fashion Week.
These are my top picks from their championed 'Limited Collection' range and if you aren't already tempted wait till you check the price tag. Amen.
These are my top picks that I am taking straight to the checkout this weekend!

Geometry Class...

Geometry in Mathematics means little to me. In fashion, it is a lot more exciting and one of the 5 key trends for this season as showcased by two of my favourite designers Christopher Kane & Jonathan Saunders, who both championed the geometric trend at the recent LFW.
SS14 is all about the print craze, mixing all arrays of shapes, patterns and textures and making a statement.

Pairing mixed geometrics can look incredibly chic, the trick is getting the balance right. I have taken a modern twist on the mod look today for lunch with friends.

New Year, New Style Icon ...

Well I am ashamed to admit it has been 2 weeks since Christmas and I still haven't spend a penny of my gift cards/cash, I haven't even been to the sales.
I am not a huge fan of January, as a new year brings with it an overwhelming need to better yourself and ensure this this year tops the last. Well my willpower is wobbling already... I have been staying up later than ever, drinking more coffee than ever and working my way through the years supply of chocolate in the cupboards.
So we are now a week into 2014 and I have already had to have a word with myself. When I get a little down in the dumps, fashion is the thing that will cheer me up and snap me out if it, so I colour coordinated my wardrobe and dug out my Ipad to search the latest street style on Google.
And that's when I spotted little Mira... she may be tiny but she is top of the fashion A-list this year and if you do not feel immediately happy and inspired when you look at these outfits you cannot be human!

Mira's full name is Miroslava Duma I first noticed her on Instagram as a follower/fried of Alexa Chung but instantly recognised her from the front row and I can now see how she has become an internet star for her street style, aside from the fact she is also a mother at the age of 28, she was former editor at Russian Harper's Bazaar until she later decided she wanted a career in web journalism, she founded Buro 24/7 , a website dedicated to fashion, art, architecture, cinema, music and style and is now a freelance writer.
I will now be entertained for hours cramming my head full of outfit inspiration and it will not be long until my purse is empty again!

LBD ...

My wardrobe is now considered complete after I was sent The Diane dress from the wonderful team at Gorgeous Couture.(also available in Cobalt Blue and Tropical Coral)

The Little Black Dress : according to most women it is the 'rule of fashion' we should all own a little black dress, be it to dress up or down depending on the occasion.
I love the unusual neckline of this dress and think it compliments people with a smaller chest like myself by drawing attention to other areas.

Gold jewellery looks best with black so I have added my new necklace by Zara and my box clutch which I found buried inside a local charity shop. My heels are Carvela which after a trip to my 'shoe man' at Timpsons have a whole new lease of life :)

Have you found your trusty LBD yet?

It's a White Out...

image from google images - blizzard 'white out'
It was Christmas come early as the posty delivered me this lovely white creation from Amy at Gorgeous Couture. This dress is one of the many stunning pieces featured in the Made In Chelsea Star, Lucy Watson's Edit for the brand. See how she styled it here

Oversized Metallic Clutch - Primark £10
Lips - Tom Ford shade Diabolique £30
  Black Courts - H&M £29
Who says white isn't for Winter? You will find that these crisp Winter Whites are covering all the fashion edit pages this season and it's officially the colour for your party palette. Keep the accessories minimal and add a pop of colour to the lips to avoid getting lost in the blizzard

My friends will tell you I am not into bling usually at all so this was an unlikely choice for me, but it's christmas and it would be rude not to add a touch of sparkle. All of the Gorgeous couture Swarovski collection dresses are made with elements of Swarovski crystals. All items arrive beautifully wrapped in a gift box on a Gorgeous Couture Velvet hanger, they really do make the effort, you are paying for great quality and product care.
Have you sorted your party dress yet? Head over to Gorgeous Couture and Wow them in white - but avoid the red wine :)

Happy Dressmas

All I want for Christmas is you... Just kidding, here's my list

Christmas Day ~  mainly for celebrating the rarity of being off work, eating and drinking to your hearts content without any judgement and being unusually enthusiastic about playing board games and spending the evening with your family :)
I always create a little 'wish' list with a few of my favourite things, I'll sometimes email a few of the links to my boyfriend ... or print a few copies and blu tac them around the house!
 Wish #1
Tom Ford Santal Blush Eau De Parfum - (here)
My favourite scent has always been Tom Ford Black Orchid but that was before I was introduced to Santal Blush and I have decided that I need both in my life. It still has the mysterious musky aroma's of Black Orchid but with a subtle splash of girly sweetness! Mmm just delicious!
It is currently on offer at House of Fraser for £140 to £126 for 50ml

Wish #2
It - By Alexa Chung
Since meeting the Chung (when I say meet I mean sitting a few rows away from her at Vogue Festival, same thing right?) I was mesmerised by her effortless coolness, I think the book will be just as intriguing. £16.99 Available at who currently have a £1 delivery offer for limited time only!
Wish #3
Lulu Guinness - Street scene Umbrella - (here)
I am a walker to worker, I moan about it alot, walking is not my favourite thing to do... so I think this will not only be a practical gift but will give me a much needed mood booster especially on those rainy Monday mornings in January, it also has the added benefit that is transparent, so no walking into people or lamp posts. It is £32 available from House of Fraser

 Wish #4
Zara - Tartan Lingerie Style Dress (here)

I love the new slip dress trend that has strutted onto the high street, I would wear this with a causal T-shirt underneath or with my snugglely mohair sweater over the top for an everyday look. There are plenty of these style dresses to choose from on the Zara website.

Wish #5 - All items (here)

When in doubt, head to Zara, Standard :)

Happy Christmas Shopping!
