Thomas Tait SS15 ...

Last week I was chomping at the bit when my editor informed me we were going to attend Thomas Tait's SS15 catwalk show at LFW! The actual venue of the show was Ambika P3 a large creative space on the side of Westminster University.
The models strutted down a catwalk that had been video projected onto the concrete floor by Lighting designer, Tupac. The music was intense, and the clothes were stunning! My style steal is the little mesh black socks (I unfortunately didn't get a photo of) they looked super cute with leather A-line skirts and a military jacket.
After a 'heads up' from an old friend and fellow fashion blogger Ropes of Holland, I knew that the whole seventies vibe was going on so I headed straight to Zara for a staple denim shirt!

Sheepskin Gilet - Depop
Camel A-line skirt - Topshop

The Sheer Cheek Of It...

It may be the industry in which I work that has brought out a bit of the rock chick within, as I am attracted to all things metallic and leather (not what you immediately associate with Spring, I know)... but the 'Sheer trend' is storming the catwalks for Spring 2015 & so I picked up this precious metallic number for Friday night drinks with the girls.

This fabric is not for the shy types, as lets face it, it's see-through, so you're going to have to invest in some tasteful brassier or under-garment to pull this off.
Sheer shimmer Tee - Primark
High waisted super skinny jeans - Primark
Black backless body - ASOS
Leather & Suede Tassel Bag - H&M
Black n Gold Wrist Watch - Olivia Burton
Suede Courts with Metal Heel - New Look
WARNING: Be prepared to have light bouncing of you at all angles! Enjoy the spotlight!

The Turtleneck ...

I used to fear the turtleneck, thinking they made people look frumpy, neckless and that they would itch like hell.. but all of this turtleneck negativity was forgotten when I stumbled across this oversized number in Zara, I learnt that they are really not all that bad and actually extremely comfy, like a publically acceptable slanket, you know, those blankets with sleeves.
I teamed mine with my trusty black leather pants from H&M, my ankle strap court shoes from Next and my 'Sophie Hulme' lookalike bag , which is from Primark, to continue my Monochrome obsession for another season :)

Pared - down Chic ...

Pared-down: to be reduced to a very simple form
Chic: casual and understated style
The saying less is more is key and it doesn’t only apply to the actual amount of clothes you put on your body, but also keep it minimal when it comes to colours and cuts.
The minimal trend has become one of my favourite trends this season. Here are some of my top tips to effortlessly pull it off!
- Stick to the same colour palettes but experiment with fabrics
- Don't be tempted to overdo the accessories!!!
- Calvin Klein & Jil Sander's collections are simplicity perfected so check out their lookbooks
- You simply can't go wrong with Acne or COS
- Wear it with a smile and perhaps an interesting shoe...

South Beach Blogger Event

I was invited back into the blogging world last week by the team at South Beach Swimwear. The event was held at Lola's Cocktail Lounge in Manchester's Northern Quarter.
And what better way to cure my Marbella blues, with a mojito in one hand and THAT CAKE from Manchester's own 'Home Sweet home' in the other, I was having a greaaat time! It was of course also a great opportunity to catch up with fellow bloggers and to get to view the Summer collection of swim & beachwear.
The gorgeous Ashleigh from Pretty Girl Rich

Yes you may may think swimwear and cake?!? but it was a match made in heaven! What a lovely bunch of girls having a good time with the only dilemma being what colour to get our nails painted, courtesy of Skin health spa.
My top pick from the collection that night was this lovely cover up for the beach, available in black or white! You can view this and all of South Beach's full collection on their website, here
Thanks for a fab night girls !!

Opposites Attract ..

I am a big fan of romantic lace and delicate embroidered items so I went weak at the knees for this floral threaded beauty in H&M at the weekend! What's also great is leather and lace is one of those clashing combo's that works so well together, naughty and nice, cue my faithful leather culottes.
I painted my lips & nails letter box red and grabbed my patent strappy sandals to complete my look.
Embroidered top - H&M
Leather culottes - Zara
Box Clutch - Vintage
Strappy sandals - Primark
Embroidered mesh triangle bra - Asos

This trend is truly one you will want to embrace this Spring!

Pretty Pastels ...

The Blossom tree in the middle of my Mum's garden is the prettiest tree in the world! The blossom dropped like confetti this week so I thought it would make the perfect back drop to shoot my latest purchase, this pretty pastel top...
Pastel blue cropped t-shirt - Topshop
(available in a variety of pastel shades, black & white)
Midi skirt - Topshop
Silver oversized clutch - Primark
White patent court shoes - H&M
Not only is this the 1st blue item to enter my wardrobe since I rebelled once with a blue polo shirt as opposed to white one day at school, it is also the cheapest at the 'practically stealing' retail price of £8, available in a large range of colours too.
I thought I would take a fresh take on the SS14 trend, by adding some tailoring and keeping it simple.
What's your favourite pastel shade for spring?
